There are countries that show nationalism and patriotism in retaining their first native tongue and not learning any language at all. However, there are huge advantages of having an aptitude and desire to learn other tongues aside from your native dialect. Primarily, English is the major language being studied and learned today because of various privileges it gives to the learner.
There are various schools and institutions that offer short courses. They are intensive to assist individuals not just how to speak specific foreign languages but how to pronounce and construct a sentence properly. In fact, there are huge investments in the BPO industry these days wherein they have adapted in the process of outsourcing people from other countries in order to cut costs. People who could speak other languages aside from English are being paid with higher compensation because it is considered as a skill today. There are also various reasons why an individual or group should study a different language.
The common reason is if one has plans to migrate to another country and he or she would settle there permanently. You can’t bring your native tongue not unless you are an English speaker, which is a major benefit because these days, most of the people know and speak the language. On the other hand, being able to communicate with the language being used in other countries is way better for you not be misunderstood where you overcome barriers of misunderstanding each other. Some are work related and it requires them not just to be adaptable to the traditions but to learn how to speak and express the language by heart. |
